In Old Norse, a dragonfly is referred to as "flugdreki", which translates to "flying dragon" or "flight dragon". The term combines "flug" (flying) and "dreki" (dragon). While "dreki" generally means dragon, it can also refer to a large, snake-like creature. The word "ormr" is also used for snakes and dragons, but "flugdreki" specifically denotes a flying dragon, which is a closer match to the modern concept of a dragonfly.
The design artwork for this board was created by Broinwood.
